In 1992, Quality Electric Service’s owner Jim Rowland was working in the corporate world. He alternated between traveling to Philadelphia and New York City for work, and he often flew to different cities for business trips. One day Jim’s wife Joan and his then four-year-old daughter Lindsay were sitting on the back porch when an airplane flew overhead. Lindsay looked up and said, “Is daddy on that airplane?” — that was the beginning of the end of Jim’s corporate career.
Jim and his wife put their heads together and came up with the idea to start a business. Jim being a third generation electrician, it was a natural fit to start an electrical contracting business, now known as Quality Electric Service.
