Pets at Peace New Jersey helps the pet owner community when they are faced with the unthinkable loss of their beloved four-legged family members. Located in Cape May Court House, Pets at Peace is a family-run establishment offering the highest standard of care for pet loss services, including immediate response, dignified cremation services, tribute products and more.
Owner Wesley Tomlin, along with her sister-in-law Meghan Tomlin, provides customer care modeled around the funeral industry. The Tomlin family has been in the funeral industry for over 20 years. Their goal is to provide families with an honest, quick and local service. Returning your loved one in a timely manner is the foundation on which Wesley founded her business.
Pets at Peace is available through area vets or by directly calling their office. Clients can leave a message, and calls are returned in a timely manner, even beyond business hours. Wesley and Meghan do at-home pick-ups for animals, which pass at home.
From the moment an animal is picked up or received by Pets at Peace, an advanced tracking service details where the animal is in the process. A paw print is taken before the cremation process begins. The cremation is performed without delay, so ashes can be returned within 72 hours. “Our process is to do everything quickly with little to no wait time. Your animal belongs with you, not waiting elsewhere,” Wesley said.
Pets at Peace is able to accommodate families that want to witness cremations. Types of services offered include individual and truly private cremations. “Everyone feels strongly when you’re dealing with death; we are here to accommodate whatever you need for the grieving process,” Wesley said.
Located off Route 47, the building is on a spacious lot, surrounded by nature. Pets at Peace is clean and simply decorated. A private, comfortable room is available for clients to hold viewings and families can bring their other members of their pet family to say goodbye.
Memorial products available for purchase include pet caskets, grave markers, urns and a variety of tribute jewelry. Their website includes a featured pet tale section, where clients can submit their stories on the Pets at Peace stories page.
“We are here to serve the local community and the timeliness and how we treat our animals is the reason we opened,” Wesley said. “Animals are our family and when they pass away, they deserve as much respect and dignity as any human.”
