OCEAN CITY – For children and adults with disabilities, the South Jersey Field of Dreams offers an opportunity to take part in one of America’s most popular pastimes. With the help of Donna Degley, the Late Shift Supervisor at Ocean City Home Bank’s Galloway branch, the baseball experience is made complete with a fully stocked concession stand. To reward Donna for her efforts, the bank has named her the Spotlight Volunteer for the second quarter of 2016.
“Donna works diligently to coordinate the volunteers for the concession stand, as well as scheduling dates with the Field of Dreams,” said Heather Hays, Assistant Vice President of Training and Recruitment at Ocean City Home Bank. “She does all of this because she loves to help.”
Thanks to food donations and volunteer servers, Field of Dreams participants and their families can enjoy snacks such as pretzels, ice cream, hot dogs and drinks at no cost. “A group is required in order to staff the stand, and without Donna leading the call and organizing everyone, it couldn’t possibly happen,” said Hays.
A resident of Port Republic, N.J., Donna will be rewarded with a donation to her favorite charity, the South Jersey Field of Dreams.
