CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Museum of Cape May County is pleased to announce that students from Stockton University who are participating in an ongoing project that researches locally appropriate Native American artifacts received a $1,000 award from the Adjunct Faculty Opportunity Fund by the Research and Professional Development Committee at Stockton.
According to Bobbi Hornbeck, adjunct faculty at the university’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the funding will be used to support the Fall 2018 Cape May County Native American Heritage Project (CNAHP) that will allow students to analyze the Curtis T. Corson Jr. collection to investigate the prehistoric economic pathways of raw material acquisition that were taking place in Cape May County.
“As Cape May County’s premier center for historic research, we are pleased that Stockton University recognized the important work being done by these students,” said Howard Aaronson, president of the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society. “Their continuing hard work in helping to better define our county’s Native American history has been a huge undertaking. We are grateful to the Research and Professional Development Committee for recognizing this project.”
