By Herald Staff

STONE HARBOR — This Columbus Day Weekend, Stone Harbor invites one and all to make some “new discoveries” at the Art & Music Weekend, taking place along 96th Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11.
Created to foster community and nurture local arts, the Art & Music Weekend will showcase local musicians and artists in Stone Harbor’s shopping district.
As visitors stroll 96th Street, solo musicians and groups will fill the air with a range of musical offerings, from jazz saxophone to contemporary standards.
Adding to the music will be displays from the region’s renowned and up-and-coming local artists including watercolorists, sculptors, oil painters, potters and carvers.
Visitors can meet and view the works of Doris Zogas, Anna Marie Zabielski, Dale Hearon, Martha Fidler, Carol Hiemenz, Elisabeth Olver, Peg Dittmar, Fran Moore and Mike Sperlak.
The Art and Music Weekend is a free event and will take place rain or shine.
Artists or musicians interested in participating are invited to call 609-368-6101 or email admin@stoneharborbeach.com.
