WILDWOOD — In baseball, it’s fan appreciation day.
At Morey’s Piers, October 11 goes by the name of Super Sunday, Morey’s Piers Closing Day Celebration, the last day to enjoy the rides for 2009. It’s a day to celebrate the vacationers who elected to spend part of their summer at Morey’s Piers.
The celebration will take place on Mariner’s Landing Pier, located at Schellenger Avenue and the Boardwalk in Wildwood.
New additions in festivities for this event include a special guest appearance from the Super Hero, Spider Man, at the Parents’ Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also a free Special Edition Closing Day 2009 Pin (while supplies last).
The annual festivities include:
• $20 All-You-Can-Ride Wristbands
• Sunny C. Gull’s 5th birthday party at 3 p.m. in front of Rollie’s Coaster
• Free face painting from Noon to 5 p.m. behind the Balloon Race Ride
• Strolling entertainers, also from Noon to 5 p.m.
• Skeeball Tournament at Mariner’s Arcade from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Skeeball Tournament Championship at Mariner’s Arcade at 4 p.m.
• Win a game prize, get a second free
• Win two season passes for next year
• Season Pass & Tickets Give-a-way (must have a pin to participate)
“Closing Day is our way of saying ‘Thank you’ to all the visitors, both new and returning, who shared the Morey’s Piers experience with us in 2009,” said Jack Morey, Executive Vice President of Morey’s Piers. “It’s also our way of saying ‘See you in 2010.’”
