Little Danny’s under New Ownership

Little Danny’s of Rio Grande reopened this summer season under the new ownership of David and Barbara Novsak. Now family owned and operated, Little Danny’s continues to serve up the same great dessert treats that led to its outstanding reputation throughout the past several decades. “We wanted to buy a small business for our family,” explains Barbara. Little Danny’s provides the ideal “nice, family-oriented environment” for Novsak family members and close friends to work with one another, learn business savvy, and save for college funds. Renovation plans include upgrading the Little Danny’s side porch with a screened in awning so that guests can enjoy their treats in a bug-free zone.
Little Danny’s now offers twenty seven hand dipped ice cream flavors, including classic staples such as strawberry and vanilla and unique new flavors such as White Gold and Cookie Monster. For ice-cream lovers with special dietary needs, Little Danny’s carries low fat, no sugar added flavors including Coffee Fudge, Cherry Vanilla, and Moose Tracks. Even more tempting than Little Danny’s hand dipped scoops are their specialty cones, made on-premises. The most popular of these include Little Danny’s waffle cone rimmed with fudge and topped with crushed Oreos or Reese’s Pieces. But the Novsak family also fields specialty cone requests from customers and is ready and willing to customize the waffle cone of your dreams.
New this summer season, Little Danny’s also features its very own menu of specialty sundaes, carefully crafted by its new owners and family. The Banana Cream Pie – crushed Nilla Wafers topped with banana ice cream, sliced bananas, and topped with graham cracker – has been a huge hit thus far. Another crowd favorite, the Nutty Surfer, features Little Danny’s acclaimed vanilla soft serve topped with peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, chopped peanut butter cups, and chocolate jimmies.
Little Danny’s excellent soft serve, its true claim to fame, continues to please and is available in thirty six unique flavors. Sample one of the many fruit flavors or go for Little Danny’s biggest soft serve sellers, German Chocolate and English Toffee. Mix and match to design the soft serve dish you desire.
