Under the leadership of 20-year hairstylist Regina Baker, eight Cape May County hairstylists decided they were ready for a change and followed Baker to her new “Symmetry Hair Salon” at 3130 Rt. 9 South in Rio Grande.
Amanda Bryan, Kaitlyn Bryan, Samantha Boyle, Kay Cee Ferguson, Christin Gregg, Donna Riedel, Michele Shaw and Donna Moffit all believed in the possibility of success that Gina could have at her own shop.
“Their dedication to me as a friend and their willingness to follow me because of what they believed I could do for them really meant a lot to me,” Baker said.
After months of planning and discussing ideas for the salon with her brother Mike Schultz and his wife Heather, Baker and the Schultz’s decided that opening Symmetry would be possible.
“I’m amazed at how much of a tight knit group of girls this is and how much they all believe in one another,” Schultz said. “It isn’t easy to just pack up and leave your current job situation for a new endeavor when you aren’t sure how successful that you will be, but they did it.”
“We work very well together and we did not want to separate,” said Gregg — a seven-year stylist.
All of the girls current clients were used to getting their hair done at their former shop in the Acme Plaza in Cape May Court House, leaving some questions about how those clients would find them at a new location and how they would inform those clients of the big move.
Through a mass mailing, telephone calling and word of mouth campaign done by each girl individually, they are starting to see that many of their clients have followed them to Symmetry and client response has been extremely positive.
“It has been nothing but warm responses; our clients really love the new salon and they are so happy for us,” said Gregg.
Symmetry will honor all of its loyal following at its Grand Opening Party on Saturday June 16, which will feature complimentary food and beverage for all customers that day as well as drawings for prizes including a new Kindle and hair products.
A ribbon cutting is also planned with the Middle Township mayor invited to attend. Call for further details, (609) 465-HAIR (4247), or email us at www.salonsymmetry@yahoo.com.
Cape May County – I’d like to suggest to the Herald that they leverage spout offs draw and replace some of the ads for their paper with a few paid ads that you probably can charge a little extra for. Lots of people…
