OCEAN VIEW — The Board of Directors of Franklin Bank announced the appointments of Thomas J. Murray as president and CEO and Mark V. Edwards as executive vice president and CFO, both were effective April 1.
Murray has held the title of interim president/CEO since May 2008, and prior to that appointment served as executive vice president and CFO.
Murray’s career in the banking industry spans 31 years. During his 26 years as an officer of Franklin Bank, Murray operated as second in command; his exemplary leadership style made him a vital part of the senior management team, according to a release.
Murray graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University where he majored in accounting.
Murray is a member and past president of the Financial Managers Society of Philadelphia as well as a member of the Insured Financial Institutions of the Delaware Valley. He served as past President of the Cumberland/Salem/Gloucester Savings League and is a member of the New Jersey Bankers Association serving on its Accounting Committee.
Edwards served as interim executive vice president/CFO since May 2008, and prior to that appointment held the title of senior vice president.
Over his 28 year career with Franklin Bank, Edwards has been a crucial member of the Senior Management Team and accountable for many of the financial operations of the institution.
Edwards holds a BA in Business Administration and is a 1980 Graduate of Gettysburg College. He is the incoming vice chair of the Salem County Chamber of Commerce and serves as president of the Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown.
