Ferry Travelers Can Now Enjoy Starbucks Coffee

By Herald Staff

DRBA PRESS RELEASE:
CAPE MAY — Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials announced Aug. 26 that the service has added two new customer amenities to its line-up. A new Starbucks coffee bar is now operating within the Cape May Terminal and is open 6:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily through the Labor Day weekend. The coffee bar hours may be adjusted for the shoulder season, depending on demand.
Our coffee loving patrons can now enjoy Starbucks specialty brews such as espresso, cappuccino, latte’ including vanilla, caramel, mocha and hazelnut flavor options. Regular and decaffeinated coffees are also available. Fresh muffins, scones, brownies, Danish, and sticky buns from a local bakery are available to go along with your java. In September, the Starbucks coffee bar will also be available inside the Lewes Terminal.
In addition, both the Cape May and Lewes terminals are now equipped with free wireless internet (WiFi) connections for our customers who have a laptop or another wireless device.
“While you’re at our Terminals, enjoying the venue, sipping your fresh cup of coffee or sampling a fresh Danish, our customers can now enjoy access to social networking sites like Facebook, email a friend, or offer a Tweet,” remarked Heath Gehrke, director of ferry operations. “It provides a great networking opportunity.”
The Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) operates year round and has carried more than thirty-five million passengers since its inception on July 1, 1964. In 2008, the ferry service, which connects Victorian Cape May, New Jersey, and historic Lewes, Delaware, transported more than 325,000 vehicles and approximately one million passengers.
