Family Service Association is awarded $35,000 by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation

By Press Release

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Family Service Association recently was awarded a $35,000 basic needs grant by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. “Families need to address their basic needs before they can think about their future,” states Cindy Herdman Ivins, FSA President/CEO. Herdman Ivins says, “The agency is excited to put the recent Bank of America grant to work.” There is no question that the greater Atlantic County community is facing challenging times especially with all the recent casino closures. One in six Americans are at risk of going hungry and many working families are struggling to put food on the table. Our neighbors are having difficulty obtaining employment, accessing basic needs and vital resources. Nearly 44 percent of households do not have enough savings to sustain them once they are faced with job loss, a medical emergency or other unforeseen expenses. This is why a grant award such as this is so important. Funds will be used to support the community through the provision of increased services. The agency remains committed to providing basic needs assistance to individuals and families. The generous support of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation has enabled FSA to be a safety net for those who find themselves facing challenging times. Herdman Ivins notes that, “We could not do the work that we do without amazing partners like Bank of America. We are immensely grateful.”
