Emily McLaughlin is MAC’s Volunteer of the Month for October

Emily McLaughlin

By Press Release

Emily McLaughlin of Cold Spring is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for October 2017. Emily is MAC’s Director of Retail Operations, overseeing MAC’s two retail outlets: the Carriage House Museum Shop and the Lighthouse Museum Shop. Over several years, however, she and her husband Joe have generously provided hospitality and accommodations to MAC presenters and program partners who come from out of town. Emily and Joe open their home to visitors and provide them a comfortable place to sleep and warm hospitality. These have included Grand Oak Plantation presenters from Delaware who present MAC’s “Show Us Your Undies” series, and actors from the Philadelphia and New York area who work with REV Theatre’s Shakespeare productions that MAC presents in summer, among others.
Susan Krysiak, MAC’s Director of Media Relations, nominated Emily for this honor. “To Emily, it seems, everyone is a friend,” she said. “She is one of the most hospitable persons I’ve known, and is always welcoming visitors and friends to her home. She doesn’t have to do it for MAC program partners, but she and Joe do so regularly. MAC is fortunate to have such generous employees.”
The Volunteer of the Month award is given to persons who demonstrate a high degree of dedication, commitment and constancy to MAC’s volunteer program. For information on the variety of volunteer opportunities available, please contact Barbara Hubmaster at (609) 884-5404 ext. 109 or email bhubmaster@capemaymac.org.
