In 2019, Crest Savings Bank celebrated our 100 year Anniversary. To express our gratitude to the community, our Centennial Committee launched the “100 Days of Giving” Campaign. Throughout the year various charitable contribution requests were awarded based upon their impact on the betterment of the families and visitors of our county, of which a few are highlighted below. As a personal thank you, every 19th of the month a centennial day was held in the branches with giveaways, financial education material and treats for customers and neighbors alike. However, we wanted to show our appreciation to the community that has helped us succeed for 100 years in a way that would be meaningful and memorable to the young and old alike. The committee organized a free carnival themed outdoor event and “Crestival” was held on September 19th. The evening was open to the public and hundreds of our neighbors enjoyed bouncy houses, face painting, balloon art, carnival games, festival food, giveaways and various entertainment. Crest Savings employees manned each activity and provided hospitality service throughout the evening along with the management team and Board of Directors. The night was a huge success, allowing our employees to interact with the community on a personal level and reinforce that although banking is what we do, community is who we are. Overall Crest Savings Bank donated approximately 15% of net income and over 1,600 man hours to various worthy causes. Due to their commitment to the education, health, and enrichment of the community, the following are only a sample of the non-profit organizations that were beneficiaries of fundraising efforts and contributions in 2019:
Health
Helping our community become vibrant and healthy is very important to Crest Savings Bank. We consider sponsorship of any organization or fund-raiser that will help sustain the state of physical, mental and social well-being, by not only striving for the absence of disease, but the ability to recover and bounce back from illness and other problems of our family, friends and neighbors within our county.
Education
To encourage the expanding knowledge of our future generations, Crest Savings Bank sponsors numerous local events including, scholastic programs, after school activities, prom events, as well as school trips and programs that focus on historical and educational material.
Enrichment
The continuance of services and social activities is not only accomplished by the monetary funding, but also by the Bank’s encouragement and support of employees dedicating their time and accepting leadership roles in community organizations.
