NORTH WILDWOOD – The Children’s Fresh Air Home (CFAH) has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Uber’s Project Jumpstart. The organization was nominated for the grant by New Jersey resident Thomas Glock, an Uber driver-partner and supporter of the Children’s Fresh Air Home.
Project Jumpstart supports local initiatives that are closest to the organizations’ hearts, and empowers them to spark change in their community.
“The Children’s Fresh Air Home is very grateful for this generous donation from Uber’s Project Jumpstart,” stated John Stefankiewicz, president of the Children’s Fresh Air Home, in a release. “This grant will enable us to move on to Phase II of our renovation effort, and ultimately reopen this home that has played such an important role in the lives of so many young people throughout our region.”
Renovation efforts at the home have been on hold, while the organization has focused on critical fundraising efforts over the past year. This donation represents a major milestone in its fundraising effort to rebuild and re-open its North Wildwood home for local youth.
“We’ve found that the drivers who partner with Uber are among the most active in their communities, and Thomas Glock’s work with the Children’s Fresh Air Home is a fantastic example,” stated Brian Hughes, general manager, Uber New Jersey. “Supporting drivers and the causes they care about is central to what we do here at Uber, and we’re honored to be awarding this latest Project Jumpstart grant here in New Jersey.”
The Children’s Fresh Air Home (CFAH) is a non-profit organization that provides a no-cost, enriching summer experience at the Jersey Shore in a safe, positive environment for children who may be living with family or community adversities. It is based in North Wildwood.
