Cape Regional to Offer Healthcare Registration Assistance

By Sponsored Content

COURT HOUSE – Sorting through the new insurance options under the Affordable Care Act can be overwhelming, but help is on the way.
Cape Regional Medical Center is hosting a team of U.S. Veterans who have been trained in a new mission: helping New Jersey residents explore their health insurance options. These veterans have been trained as Certified Application Counselors (CAC’s), prepared to assist individuals in comparing and signing up for new health insurance plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare. The CAC’s will be at Cape Regional Medical Center on Mondays and Friday’s beginning on Jan. 20, 2014 to assist individuals. Appointments times are at 10:00 am, 11:30 am and 1:00 pm and can be made by calling the Medical Center at 609-463-4040.
Some families and individuals will qualify for tax credits or subsidies that will make their coverage more affordable. To help the CAC’s better explore your options with you, please come prepared with information such as:
• Social Security numbers (or document numbers for legal immigrants)
• Birthdates
• Pay stubs, W-2 forms or “Wage and Tax Statements”
• Policy numbers for any current health insurance
• Information about any health insurance available through your job, if you are currently employed.
This service is made available through a special initiative from the New Jersey Hospital Association and New Jersey Health Initiatives, with financial support provided by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The CAC’s will be working in hospitals and other sites across the state. Visit www.njha.com/reform/gethelp to learn more about this program.
