Cape May Officially Lights Its Christmas Tree

CAPE MAY- The nation’s oldest seashore resort lit its Christmas tree in a ceremony Dec., 4 in Rotary Park.
The Cape Harmonaires Barbershop Chorus sang popular Christmas songs and carols. Singer-guitarist Mary Roth entertained.
Mayor Edward J. Mahaney Jr., with help from a couple of dozen youngsters, pushed the switch to light a tall tree in the center of the bandstand. Jay Schatz read “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Santa Claus arrived and listened to the wishes of children.Temperatures in the 50s brought a large crowd to the park.
