Avalon Lions Help Fight Addiction With Donation to Lighthouse Church

By Press Release

At their monthly meeting,  the Avalon Lions Club hosted Pastor Charles Harrah (Pastor Charlie) for an informative talk about the opioid addiction problem in Cape May County. The Lighthouse Church offers its CURE program to area residents fighting a variety of addictions. CURE stands for Christians United for Recovery and reaches out to hundreds of people caught in the growing problem of opioid addiction and alcoholism.
At the meeting, the Lions presented a check for $6,000 to help fund the church’s ongoing efforts.
The Lions support more than a dozen charities throughout Cape May County, raising and giving over $110,000 a year.
