Atlantic County Harley-Davidson is a family-owned business since 1984.
Ben and Brenda Petrovic have always enjoyed riding as do their sons. They moved from North Jersey in 1982 and became dealers in 1984.
The Petrovics started in a 1,800-square-foot building on Route 40 and moved to the present location in 1990. They have added on three times. They now have about 50,000 square feet.
Ben has always loved to work with his hands and be part of the construction, so he has always been the general contractor and has done a lot of the construction work with the help of family and friends.
The couple rides as often as they can with their HOG Chapter (Harley Owners Group). There is always a ride going somewhere.
The chapter has at least three different rides every week. Some are long weekend trips or even a week’s vacation.
The Petrovics are at the store to lend a hand and help in every event that happens here, which is about one per month. The chapter is also involved with several charities like Muscular Dystrophy Association, breast cancer and one of their favorites, their room at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden. The room is decorated in everything Harley.
They supply all the necessities like bedding, towels, rugs and lots of Harley decorations. The couple visits with them every year and the kids love having their pictures taken with the motorcycles.
The entire Harley Family collects can tabs that are given to the House to be sold at the recycle yard. This helps to fund some of the other things they need.
In the local area every Thanksgiving and Christmas, the chapter donates dinner baskets with everything a family would need to make a nice dinner. At Christmas, they even furnish toys with those baskets for all the children. The chapter does a great job of helping whenever they can.
There are several different Harley models from the introductory Sportster to the New Tri-Glide. One of the most popular is the Screaming Eagle CVO Limited edition.
They can’t keep them in stock.
The 2011 Models are available now, and the new super low 883 Sportster seems to be making a big splash as well.
Atlantic County Harley-Davidson has a great staff with over 20 years of combined experience. The Petrovics have always felt that customer service was the most important thing they have to offer. The staff does an excellent job of helping customers find whatever they need.
They all have become part of the Harley Family; they share the same interest “Ride and Have Fun.”
They have several factory-trained master technicians in the Service Department, and they provide great service to everyone.
They have a lot of travelers who stop for service on their rides across country or when someone breaks down and needs to be picked up, one of their drivers will pick them up anywhere in Atlantic, Cape, Cumberland or Ocean counties.
While their bikes are being serviced Atlantic County Harley-Davidson has a small museum and café on the second floor where people can hang out and have coffee or cookies or ice cream and tell stories of the trips they have taken all over this great country.
The museum has some great bikes from all different era’s of Harley-Davidson’s history and even some of our local history with the pictures of one of the first Dealership in Atlantic City and way back when racing was allowed inside the Convention Hall.
One the favorite pieces of memorabilia is the 1918 Cook Locomotive that sits outside the dealership. Ben has always been interested in history and it shows in everything he does. The locomotive to him was a landmark that sat at The Train Station a local hobby shop on Rt 30 about a mile from the dealership.
He always admired it and would stop in and talk to the owner. When the owner pasted away Ben didn’t want the locomotive to be scraped so he purchased it and had it moved in front of the dealership! It continues to be a wonderful landmark for the dealership and the town.
After they finish marveling at all the bikes and memorabilia and their tummy’s are full, they can shop in the clothing department with have something for everyone.
They offer riding apparel and even if you’re not riding you can enjoy Harley-Davidson’s great fashion apparel. They have everything from leather boots, vest and jackets to dress men’s and women’s shirts, and denim everything. Don’t forget the little ones their all future Harley riders!
