COURT HOUSE – Richard Artymowicz, Pharm.D, FCCP, BCPS, Director of Pharmacy Services at Cape Regional Medical Center, has been honored with the Greg Santora Pharmacist of the Year Leadership Award from the New Jersey Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (NJSHP).
The official NJSHP release states, “Rich was recognized as an exceptional leader providing high-level, patient-focused services and as an outstanding pharmacist who consistently succeeded beyond any expectation. Rich always aims for excellence at all levels of care and his numerous accomplishments reflect the core values embodied in this award. Rich has actively participated in NJSHP for about 12 years in different leadership positions, including Director of the Council on Educational Affairs since 2003. He has been an asset and the principal driving force for the successful maintenance of the NJSHP’s continuing educational program.”

Dr. Artymowicz received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1991 and his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1993. He completed his residency in Pharmacy Practice at Memorial Hospital in Easton, Maryland. Dr. Artymowicz is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists and is Board-Certified in Pharmacotherapy.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by my peers in this way,” stated Artymowicz. “Of course, none of the accomplishments in my career would have been possible without the strong support of the entire Pharmacy Department at Cape Regional Medical Center.
Rich, and his wife, Kathy, live in Upper Township with their two children. He has been a member of the Cape Regional Medical Center Team since July, 1994.
The New Jersey Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (NJSHP) is a 1,000 member professional organization that serves and supports pharmacists and technical staff that practice pharmacy in hospitals, long-term care facilities, health maintenance organizations, or other health systems. Each year, NJSHP honors a practicing pharmacist who demonstrates excellence in Leadership, Planning, Pharmaceutical Care, Pharmacy Process and Performance Improvement, and Positive Outcomes with the NJSHP Pharmacy Practitioner of the Year Award.
Cape Regional Medical Center is an affiliate of Penn Medicine for Cancer Care and Cardiac Care. It is accredited by and received the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission who also awarded it Disease Specific Care Certification in Wound Care and Inpatient Diabetes Care. The Society for Chest Pain Centers recognizes the Medical Center as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The 242-bed Medical Center is located in the heart of Cape May County.
