The Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) Foundation recently donated 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to 10 elementary schools and organizations in the region. The supplies were collected during the Foundation’s 9th Annual Tools for Schools Drive held prior to the school season. To date, the AMI Foundation has donated 2,500 back packs to area school children in need.
”Many New Jersey children face the prospect of arriving for their first day of school in without the most basic of school supplies,” said Dr. Peggy Avagliano, President of the AMI Foundation Board of Directors. “With the support of our physicians and employees, along with the community at large, we are so pleased to help provide these children with an equal opportunity at a quality education.”
The AMI Foundation placed blue collection baskets in the reception areas of all 12 AMI office locations in Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean counties. AMI staff, physicians and community members were invited to contribute essential school supplies. The AMI Foundation purchased the backpacks to accompany the school supplies.
