On Thursday, Nov. 17, ALDI Rio Grande held its grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Over 100 community members attended and stood in line waiting to check out the new store, the first being Elaine Orsi of Erma, who arrived at 7 a.m. Elaine shared that she is happy to see a new business opening in the community.
Also attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony were elected officials and ALDI staff and representatives. Middle Township Mayor Michael Clark welcomes the new ALDI store. “This is a wonderful addition to Middle Township,” he said. “It means jobs, a vacant building filled and another place to shop. It’s only a matter of time before other businesses see Middle Township is a great place to do business.”
Deputy Mayor Jeffrey DeVico added, “It’s great to see this level of excitement and so many people come out for opening day.”
With nearly 1,600 stores in 34 states, ALDI is known for high-quality grocery items at incredibly low prices. ALDI Rio Grande is located at 3201 Route 9 S., and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
