UPPER TOWNSHIP – Beacon Animal Rescue, a non-profit, no-kill rescue, seeks additional volunteers to assist in its mission of finding loving homes for unwanted or abandoned dogs and cats.
Beacon is operated entirely by volunteers. Volunteers handle every aspect of rescue operation, including: cleaning kennels and cat room, feeding, walking dogs, caring for Beacon cats at the Somers Point PetSmart adoption center, transporting animals to and from veterinary appointments, assisting with fundraisers, grounds and maintenance, clerical duties, showing dogs at Somers Point PetSmart and community events, and introducing potential adopters to dogs and cats during public hours.
Volunteers, who must be 18 years of age or older, are needed seven days a week during various shifts. Younger volunteers must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old at all times.
