Award-Winning Actress and Artist

By On Deck Staff

Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor will wrap up the summer season in style this Labor Day Weekend with The Art of Jane Seymour. Seymour’s unique collection will be on display and available for purchase Sept. 4 through Sept. 6.
This year’s exhibit is one of the most extensive shows ever, and will feature nearly 100 original and limited edition pieces of art, from watercolor to acrylic creations.
New this year will be artwork that is the signature of her Open Heart Collection, including a “Peace, Love and Open Heart” watercolor and “Open Heart” sculpture. Other popular themes are mothers with children, beach landscapes and floral bouquets.
The Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress has a deep passion for art that began during her childhood, and continued through young adulthood. Seymour returned to painting during times of tremendous adversity.
“I really didn’t take painting up seriously until about 18 years ago, when I went through a terrible divorce in which I lost all my money. It was just a terrible, terrible time.
“Instead of going into a deep, dark tunnel of depression, which is definitely where I would have headed, I was kind of brought into this Zen-like state painting watercolors,” Ms. Seymour reflects.
Jane Seymour has devoted much of her art career to helping others, by partnering with nationally recognized charities, such as The American Red Cross and The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Seymour will be on hand for special meet-and-greet receptions held each night from 7-10 p.m..
If you would like to attend, please RSVP to the Gallery at 609-368-7777.
Ocean Galleries is located at 9618 Third Ave., Stone Harbor.
