Avalon History Center Photo Contest Winners Announced

AVALON – The Avalon Historical Society received entries for their 16th Annual Photography Contest during May.  
Amateur photographs were judged by Cal Sampson, Len Morgan, and David Coskey.   Approximately 70 photographs were submitted.
Rose Marie Chew, chair of the event, announced winners of four different categories:  
Scenic:  first place Brian Coyle “3:00 AM at 19th Street”, second Sharon Fletcher “Over the Horizon”, third Judi Rogers “Dramatic Clouds.”
Portrait and Personality:  first place Karen Goldberg “Here’s Looking at You”, second Sharon Fletcher “Amelia”, third Sharon Fletcher “Ruby”;
Nature: first place Karen Goldberg “Waiting for Morn”, second Christine Falcone “Living His Best Life”, third Karen Goldberg “Just Too Cute”;
Avalon: first place John Kauterman “Sunset at Fishing Pier”, second Amy Gilbert “Avalon Fog”, third Judi Rogers “Fishin’ Pier”  
Best in show went to Karen Goldberg for her “Here’s Looking at You” photograph.
The photographs will remain exhibited in the History Center through June.   
The History Center is open daily, except Sundays, and is located at 215 – 39th St., Avalon.
