All the trimmings at Sea Isle B-B-Q

By On Deck Staff

Volunteers from Saint Joseph Catholic Church will not only serve up a delicious dinner with all the trimmings at their annual Chicken B-B-Q Dinner, July 26, they will also be offering plenty of interesting information.
That’s because this year’s chicken-feast is being held in conjunction with the parish’s official kick-off celebration for Connecting in Faith, a capital campaign to support the construction of a new parish church.
Campaign committee leaders will be present at the B-B-Q to discuss architectural renderings and details surrounding the church’s building project.
As usual, the annual Chicken B-B-Q Dinner will be highlighted with great food, entertainment and bountiful fellowship. However, parish council and event committee members have pointed out that gifts for the capital campaign will not be solicited during the B-B-Q.
“As always, the purpose of our B-B-Q is to bring parishioners and neighbors together, but this year we are also excited to share our plans for a new church with the community,” said Parish Council President Kathleen “Dutch” Devlin. “The B-B-Q regularly sells-out because it is so much fun!”
The B-B-Q Dinner will also feature a “Beer & Wine Garden” and plenty of family-friendly activities, including a moon bounce, face painting, games, raffles, and music.
There will also be a wide variety of homemade desserts to enjoy, courtesy of the Saint Joseph Catholic Daughters.
The cost to attend the Chicken B-B-Q Dinner is $15 for adults ($16 at the door) and $5 for children, who will enjoy a special kid’s menu.
Additionally, “Beer and Wine Garden” bracelets will be on sale for $5 each.
The festivities will take place inside the parish’s air-conditioned auditorium, 45th St. and Central Ave., 4-8 p.m.
