COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program congratulates the winners of its 2020 4-H Equestrian of the Year Contest.
According to a release, Elise Heim was selected by a panel of judges as the 4-H Senior Equestrian of the Year. Elise is an 11th-grade student, at Lower Cape May Regional High School, and a member of the Shore Blazers and Star Hollow Riders 4-H Clubs.
Caitlyn Schaffer, a sixth-grade student, at Upper Township Middle School, and a member of the Hy-Riders 4-H Club, is the new Junior Equestrian of the Year.
The contestants were judged on a written resume and 4-H story, a personal interview, and a four-to-six minute stage presentation on the importance of good sportsmanship in the 4-H equine program. Both young women did an excellent job in the contest and are outstanding representatives of the Cape May County 4-H Equine Program.
Elise will go on to represent the county at the NJ State 4-H Equestrian of the Year Contest in August.
Special thanks to contest judges Amanda Burnell and Anna Oney, both alumna of the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program.
