CLERMONT – Authorities arrested a Clermont man and charged him with possession and distribution of child pornography and seized cellphones and laptop computers during a search of his residence.
Steven T. Seeburg, 63, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 20, after a joint investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an unidentified subject, subsequently identified as Seeburg, downloaded and shared various images of child sexual abuse material.
The investigation included the execution of a court-authorized search warrant Aug. 20 on Seeburg’s residence by members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, county Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit & Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations-Atlantic City.
At the time of the search, multiple cellular devices, including cellphones and laptop computers, were seized from the residence and found to contain child sexual abuse images and videos.
Seeburg was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and second-degree distribution of child pornography. He was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
An individual charged with a second-degree crime is subject to a prison term of five to 10 years. An individual charged with a third-degree crime is subject to a prison term of three to five years.
