Cameras Capture Break-in at Jewelry Store

Security cameras capture three people breaking into the Queen May jewelry store on Sunday, May 5.

CAPE MAY – Three people smashed the glass in a door to get into the Queen May jewelry store on Washington Street on Sunday, making off with a number of high-end items, police said.

According to Police Chief Dekon Fashaw, security cameras showed the three using a sledgehammer to break the glass in the front door of the shop in the 300 block of the Washington Street Mall at 2:47 a.m. May 5.

Fashaw said the suspects broke multiple display cases and stole jewelry and numerous high-end bags, specifically Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermes. A video posted on Facebook shows the intruders breaking the glass, entering the store and taking items: https://www.facebook.com/reel/809724167276337.

Police also said there was a getaway driver. The break-in is under investigation.
