WILDWOOD- The Business at the Beach Expo at the Wildwood Convention Center attracted businesses from all over Cape May County to meet, mingle, and show their wares on Wednesday, April 23. Over 90 booths were filled by representatives of every kind of industry: from trash removal to marinas, private nursing care to graphic designers to newspapers (including this one). These diverse groups met to advertise and form new working relationships as the County prepares for another busy summer.
The Herald was there to show just a few of the great new projects we’ve been working on all winter, and welcome local businesses to get on board with us. Our crack team of advertising experts showed off our new online business directory Marketplace – a great way of reaching locals and visitors searching for everything they might need in a hurry: a new car, a new couch, or just the best place within walking distance to get a pizza or a cold drink.
Marketplace currently has over 6,000 businesses listed, including maps, pictures, and special offers. Check it out at capemaycountyherald.com/marketplace.
Webmaster Rick Racela and Community Liaison Vicky Samselski were on hand to talk about the Herald’s newest offering, Herald Mobile Alerts.
These alerts are free to sign up for, and free for schools, police departments, traffic, and sports teams to use to reach people all over Cape May County instantly by text message. We’re even offering ways for local venues to reach their audience with entertainment updates, discounts, and contests.
We signed up dozens of people to receive these alerts within hours of launching the new system and we couldn’t be more excited about what these alerts will mean for the safety of our children, everyone on the roads, and (yes) people wondering what to do this Saturday night.
The Business at the Beach Expo was a great event to gear up for the busiest season of all. And from what we witnessed at the Convention Center, it’s going to be an exciting summer for everyone lucky enough to be here in Cape May County.
