NORTH WILDWOOD – A “joke” bomb threat at Wildwood Catholic Academy resulted in police questioning a student and a search of the student’s residence.

On Thursday, April 3, the Police Department responded to a report of a potential bomb threat at the academy. The report was made by school officials, who said a student had made a concerning statement about bringing an explosive device to school.

The student was formally interviewed with the parents present, and it was determined that the student’s statement was intended as a joke. Further investigation included a search of the student’s residence by detectives, during which no weapons or explosives were found. As a result of the investigation, the statement made by the student was deemed not credible.

Anyone who has information related to this case or any other criminal activities is asked to contact the North Wildwood Police Department at 609-522-2411.
