  • Birding the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Thursday, August 15 – Join naturalist Aidan Griffiths for South Texas, a photographic tour of the birding hot spots of the LRGV of Texas, another top 100 birding spot in North America!
  • Monarch Butterflies and Cape May, Thursday, September 19 – Join Project Monarch Program Director, Mark Garland, to learn about the monarch’s unique biology and the past, present, and future studies of monarchs in Cape May and beyond. Learn how these studies impact monarch conservation; a monarch butterfly tagging demonstration will follow this talk.
  • Evolution of the Cape May Point Science Center Pollinator Garden, Thursday, October 17 – Join Master Gardener and CMPSC Caretaker, Katie Bliss to learn about her efforts to create a certified pollinator and wildlife habitat for migrating birds and butterflies in the CMPSC courtyard. Then, get a tour of the gorgeous gardens. A monarch butterfly tagging demonstration will follow this talk.

Nature Journaling, Monday, August 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Art Educator Peaches Lukens leads a workshop on this artistic endeavor that helps further your study of our local flora and fauna. Journal and all supplies included.

The return of Project Monarch! Starting Thursday, September 19th, there will be weekly monarch tagging demonstrations at the Cape May Point Science Center on Thursdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. until October 19. We will also feature special exhibits and activities about monarch butterflies throughout this period so stop in for a tour and visit of our exhibits.

Tours of the Science Center will run on the following schedule: Through Monday, September 2 (Labor Day) they run daily (except Tuesdays) at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. Tours continue after Labor Day through Oct. 1 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tours in October continue Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
