The 40th-annual Avalon Garden Club Flower Show, “Here Comes Summer,” will be held on Saturday, June 8 at the Avalon Community Hall, at 3001 Avalon Ave. The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – admission is free. Donations are welcome to benefit the club’s beautification projects.

All exhibits will be judged by the attending public as “people’s choice” between the hours of 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be seven “Artistic Design Awards” and 12 horticulture exhibits. All children will be presented with 19 pennies, too, so they can have fun voting. There will be an award ceremony at 2 p.m., at which time the winners will be announced by Avalon Mayor John McCorristin.

The club will also sell raffle tickets to win one of our many beautiful raffle items. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Avalon Garden Club’s beautification projects.
