Authorities Investigating Shooting Death in Woodbine

Robert Harkins was employed by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office when the alleged information took place.

The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the State Police have launched an investigation into the shooting death in Woodbine of Daquann Smith, 22, of Whitesboro, at around 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.

Smith was fatally shot in the 300 block of Madison Avenue. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death. 

Upon receiving reports of gunfire, State Police responded to the scene and  discovered Smith with fatal wounds. The State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Prosecutor’s Office are gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and pursuing leads.
