Artists Holiday Marketplace at Nature Center of Cape May Set for Dec. 7

CAPE MAY — The Nature Center of Cape May will host their Artists Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. This year’s Artists Holiday Marketplace will feature over 15 local artists with their original handcrafted wares including three local authors. 

“This is our version of the famous Christmas Markets of Germany, Weihnachtmarkt,” explained Sanctuary Director Gretchen Whitman. “We invite you to Shop Small and Shop Local this holiday season and support some of the Nature Center’s favorite local artists. Local art and signed books make great holiday gifts!”

The Artists Holiday Marketplace is open to the public with plenty of free parking. Light refreshments will be served. Fresh local evergreen holiday table arrangements created by our talented volunteers will be available for purchase all weekend.

There will be local artists set up in both of our buildings with work of many different mediums, including:

Visit our local authors to purchase a personalized signed copy of their books. Suzanne Simonetti will be signing her holiday book “A Cape May Christmas Story” as well as her best seller “The Sound of Wings”. Mystery writer Miles Nelson, whose crime mysteries are set in beautiful Cape May, will be available to chat and sign his books. Children’s book author, Neeti Bathala will be signing her book “Moonlight Crab Count” all about the horseshoe crabs seen on local beaches.

Local author Suzanne Simonetti will be signing her holiday book, A Cape May Christmas Story.

Proceeds go directly to support our artist and author friends who have been so generous to us through volunteering and providing donations to our fundraisers. The Center’s popular natural wreath making workshops will also be happening throughout the weekend. To attend a wreath making workshop please register in advance on Eventbrite.
