By Christopher South

COURT HOUSE — Police arrested a Green Creek man and said they confiscated 2,100 bags of heroin and $10,000 in cash.

Harold Perez, 34, of Green Creek was arrested after a multi-agency investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Middle Township Police Chief Tracey Super.
On Monday, Aug. 11, the prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, in cooperation with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, executed search warrants on several residences and a motor vehicle associated with Perez.
As a result, authorities seized about 2,100 bags of heroin, over half an ounce of cocaine, a Ruger handgun, drug distribution equipment, and about $10,000 in cash. Investigators also said they found evidence that Perez was operating a drug manufacturing facility.
Perez was charged with first-degree maintaining a narcotics manufacturing facility; first-degree possession with the intent to distribute heroin; second-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine; second-degree possession of a firearm while committing a drug offense; second-degree endangering the welfare of a child; second-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin; third-degree possession of heroin; third-degree possession of cocaine; third-degree transport or possession of property derived from criminal activity; third-degree hindering apprehension; and fourth-degree distribution of drug paraphernalia.

Perez was held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility to await court proceedings.

Under law, individuals convicted of a first-degree crime face a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.
