To the Editor: Over the past 10 days, many government workers, including myself, have called Assemblyman Fiocchi’s office and respectfully asked a very simple question: “Do you support a millionaire’s tax and will you support a full-funding pension budget bill that contains a millionaire’s tax?” The response: Silence. Assemblyman Fiocchi is no dummy. He is also not an ignorant person. He claims to be independent and not influenced by state Republican “peer pressure.” Why he has become “Silent Sam” on this issue is confusing. Is it his job to protect millionaires in the first legislative district or is it to respond to questions from his constituents? All that is asked is for an answer to the question. I hope “Silent Sam” soon becomes “Stand Up Sam.”
