It’s funny how the posted business hours for Town Hall are 8:30–4:30 Monday through Friday, yet the Assessor’s Office seems to be closed more often than it’s open. A couple of weeks ago, when taxes were due, I went in to get information on my added assessment; closed. I went back again this past week, closed again. This office doesn’t have just one assessor, but two. Our tax dollars pay their combined salaries, nearly $200,000 and somehow both employees are off at the same time so often that there’s no one available to answer residents’ questions. How is this acceptable?
