Thomas (Tom) Edward Shaw, aged 83, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. Born on February 17, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Frederick and Helen Shaw, Tom was the epitome of hard work and dedication to his family.
A proud Philadelphia firefighter for 32 years, Tom loved the camaraderie of his fellow firefighters inside and outside the firehouse. He spent most of his “restful” retirement in North Cape May, New Jersey, delivering groceries and working the overnight shift at Acme Markets. Tom was a member of the Villas Fishing Club, enjoying his weekly shuffleboard matches and watching sunsets. His favorite activities were attending his granddaughters' soccer games and acrobat recitals, hosting family get-togethers, and going to concerts.
Tom was a devoted husband to Anna Marie Shaw (nee Madden) for 51 years, a loving father to Courtney Kelly (Chris) and Andrea Shaw, and a proud grandfather to Taryn and Ceibhfhionn. He is also survived by his brother Bruce Shaw (Jane) and many nieces and nephews.
His family invites all who knew him to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 7, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 PM, at Springfield Country Club, 400 W Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
