Stone Harbor ...I'll make this simple so that you understand...The library tax is not set by SH. This is a County tax that is approved by the Cape May County Commissioners. The library tax for all 11 municipalities then goes into one pool and the County decides how to spend it. The SH Borough has no say. So if you look at what the County spends on the SH library you'll see that we do don't even get the value of the tax collected that SH taxpayers contribute. So if we opt out of the system then theoretically we would have more tax collected than it cost to run the Library.
