I'm disgusted by the sentiments I see from people these days regarding the poor and needy. That the hungry deserve to starve, that the sick deserve to die if they lose their assistance. We're talking about children, the elderly, and the disabled. I saw someone on FB tell a single mother of two infants asking if anyone could spare some formula to "get a job and go buy some" while also asking the community for free pavers for his garden. We shouldn't be in this deadlock over not having food assistance or allowing healthcare costs to skyrocket. Shame on anyone without empathy for those affecTED.
