MOREY, DOLORES, A.
October 23, 1930 October 11, 2025
Surrounded by the love of her family, Dolores Ann Morey, lovingly called Nina or Dee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Dee was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 23, 1930, to Herbert F. and Anna Mae Peterson. Dee's life was filled with warmth, laughter, and devotion to those she loved most.
After moving to the Wildwoods in her youth, Dee graduated from Wildwood High School and made Cape May County her lifelong home. As the eldest of her siblings, she naturally stepped into a role of caring and nurturing qualities that defined her throughout her life.
Dee's remarkable work ethic and friendly spirit shone through in her years with NJ Bell, as the founder of RINGO on the Wildwood boardwalk, and later in her legacy she shared with many families and visitors as a co-founder of Morey's Piers. But her greatest joy came from her family. She shared a beautiful 66-year love story with her husband, William “Bill” H. Morey, whom she married in 1951, and together they built a legacy of love through their four children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Dee was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill; parents, Herbert and Anna Mae; siblings Richard, James, Nancy, Judith, and Patricia; son-in-law, John Freeman. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Robert Peterson; children – William Morey Jr. (Carolyn), Thomas Morey, Joan Morey, and Jane Freeman; grandchildren – William, John, Eric, Sara, Brett, Drew, and Jenna; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her kindness, strength, and endless compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Dolores' memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – www.stjude.org/donate.
A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, 230 E. Maple Avenue, Wildwood, NJ ,the same church where Dee married Bill and their love story began. Visitation took place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Condolences at ingersollgreenwoodfh.com
