Indictments Filed Sept. 30

Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 11 indictments Sept. 30. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.  A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons. 

Kayon E. Campos faces a count of third-degree bail jumping after his failure to appear for a hearing on charges that included unlawful possession of a weapon.

Frederick W. Boyle was named in a four-count indictment for second-degree aggravated assault and with possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a leaf blower, and third-degree aggravated assault. The fourth count was unlawful possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Vaughn V. Downes was indicted on two second-degree counts, for aggravated assault and burglary.

Quezada Canty and Ebony M. James face two third-degree counts, for theft and conspiracy to commit theft.

Francisco Perez was indicted for third-degree hindering.

Christopher R. Hillman faces four counts of possession of a CDS in the third degree. The controlled substances were oxycodone, methamphetamine, alprazolam and cocaine.

Ramon A. Nazario was named in a seven-count indictment, with four third-degree counts: two for burglary and two for theft. The indictment also contains two fourth-degree counts for theft of a credit card, as well as a fourth-degree count for theft.

Daniel E. Moratchev and May Diep were jointly indicted on three counts of possession of a CDS in the third degree. The substances were fentanyl, methamphetamine and ketamine.

Daryl J. Edwards faces a single-count indictment for third-degree eluding police.

Ahmad A. Chery and Lesaun Rhodes were jointly named in a six-count indictment, including two counts of theft, one in the third and one in the fourth degree, two counts of conspiracy, one in the third degree and one in the fourth, and two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, oxycodone and alprazolam.

Michael J. Hill Jr. was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree witness tampering.
