OTTO, HARRY EMERSON
Harry Emerson Otto, 78, passed away on September 26, 2025, in Linglestown, Pennsylvania. Born on February 17, 1947, in Tower City, Pennsylvania, Harry lived a life marked by warmth, curiosity, and a deep connection to the people and places he loved.
A graduate of Millersville University in Pennsylvania, Harry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a focus on teaching Spanish.
His passion for learning and sharing knowledge extended far beyond the classroom. One of his greatest joys was teaching astrology-an interest that became a signature part of his personality. Known for greeting everyone with the question “When's your birthday?”, Harry used this simple inquiry as a gateway to meaningful conversations and lasting friendships.
In 1975, Harry returned to Stone Harbor, New Jersey-a cherished family vacation destination-and began working at the Lark Motel. What started as a seasonal job blossomed into a lifelong commitment; Harry remained at the Lark Motel for 50 years! Over those decades, he became a fixture in the Stone Harbor community.
Harry's love for music was another defining aspect of his life. A talented pianist, he often shared his musical talent at public events throughout Stone Harbor.
Those who knew Harry remember him as a caring and engaging man who had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. His enthusiasm for astrology, his dedication to hospitality, and his musical talents all reflected a life of passion and purpose.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness and curiosity in others.
In his name, donations can be made to the Cape May County Library.
