Had a strange interaction with one of the candidates for commissioner. He came to my house and was nice enough but when I expressed concerns about his running mates, he didn’t even try to address them and said just vote for him alone. Is that normal? It made me very uncomfortable because if you’re going to be on a ticket together, you should be vouching for each other’s qualifications. I didn’t think either running mate was qualified for governance, but I would have voted for him up until that point. His disloyalty left a bad taste in my mouth. Local elections are about values not politics.
