Indictments Filed Sept. 16

Readers are reminded that not only are all individuals listed below presumed innocent unless proven guilty, there may also be multiple individuals who share the same name, even in the same town.

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 13 indictments Sept. 16. 

The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. A “certain person” charge can be brought against individuals whose previous convictions bar them from having weapons. 

Barbara S. Allen was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in North Wildwood.

Benjamin T. Steelman faces two third-degree counts, for aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

William Osborn was indicted on a single count of third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.

Michael E. Shields faces a second-degree count of eluding police in a motor vehicle.

John R. Gavin was named in a four-count indictment, for second-degree aggravated assault and three third-degree counts, for burglary, hindering apprehension and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, a knife.

Kevin S. Davis was indicted for resisting arrest in the third degree and for fourth-degree aggravated assault.

Kenneth R. Medina-Machado faces three second-degree counts for sexual assault on a victim under the age of 13 and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Michelle L. McBride was indicted on three third-degree counts of possession of a CDS. The controlled substances were buprenorphine, amphetamine and oxycodone.

Antonia M. Spagnola faces a single count of second-degree aggravated assault.

Christopher T. Vandorn was named in a three-count indictment, for third-degree aggravated assault along with two counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault.

Adel Alhablawi was indicted for receiving stolen property in the third degree.

Luis M. Mercado Osario faces a six-count indictment, second-degree aggravated assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault and three counts of assault by auto, one in the third degree and two in the fourth degree.

Malcom S. Jones was indicted for second-degree burglary, along with three fourth-degree counts, for criminal trespass, criminal mischief and harassment while on parole. In 2023 Jones was convicted of third-degree aggravated assault and fourth-degree certain person.
