Happy September, my friends! As the excitement starts to shift back to school and responsibilities, I’m here to remind you to have a little bit of fun on the weekends.
This past weekend, I took a trip down to Wildwood Crest. I’ll be taking you on the adventure I’ve had at Two Mile Crab House. You already know how much I love my back bay treasures. This is another one. It’s tucked right along the base of the Middle Thorofare Bridge, which connects the Wildwoods to Cape May.
Two Mile has breathtaking waterfront views of the marina and waterways. I will give you a bonus point for getting dinner out on the deck during sunset. You will thank me later. That being said, they have a large outdoor deck. Half of which is covered with a giant awning, so there is plenty of shade and refuge from the sun on a hot afternoon.

Otherwise, you do have the option of sitting at a table outside in the sun covered by large table umbrellas. Inside they have a beautiful dining room that is warm and comfortable. Outside you have a great view of the marina. It is simply wonderful and peaceful. Now, I must confess, I did not eat here. I simply went to enjoy some music and enjoy the vibe. The menu here from what I saw was extremely seafood-forward. So, if a food allergy or sensitivity is a thing: be warned. But I can tell you if you’re going to eat here, you’ll absolutely have to try the crabs. Just take a quick look at some pictures and you will see what I’m talking about.
They have a great drink selection as well. They lay claim to the “freshest and finest” orange crush. You’ll have to try one to see for yourself.
I’m excited to tell you about the band that took me down there: The Quixote Project. This was the coolest band I’ve seen in a while. They played a bunch of original music. The Quixote Project has this fun blend of folk, jam, country, and bluegrass.

The whole time I was dancing in my seat and toe-tapping away. They were so much fun! I got the impression they have travelled far and wide playing music. So, as I do, I did some research online after I got home. This band is pretty interesting.
Their front man is Jeff Shelby and it would seem that the band behind him shifts and changes at different times and points. The newest album is called Through the Thicket. Their last album took home several awards. They seem to be building an incredible career. They have shared the stage with big names along the way such as Miranda Lambert and Jon Pardi.
I can’t recommend this band enough. If you are lucky enough to see them coming anywhere near you, make it a trip. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Check them out on Facebook, and if you see them live, tell them Do the Shore sent you!
