Out of curiosity I looked up the amount of the fines a company faces for hiring an illegal undocumented worker. The fines imposed vary and are minimal which makes the risk of hiring these people worth taking the chance of being caught. As a deterrent the minimal fine should start at $10k per person and go up from there. Also, the possibility of jail time should be changed to mandatory jail time for the company owner or executive in charge of hiring. Making changes to the penalties could possibly be a deterrent for people hiring illegals and make people want to come into our country legally.
