Teachers just received their schedules at Middle Township Elementary #2. Last year, children received 15 minutes or less per day of recess. This year, it is only 12 minutes. Why is #2 not following New Jersey State Recess Law which states, “Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, public school districts shall provide a daily recess period of at least 20 minutes for students in grades kindergarten through five.” Not only is this illegal for the second year in a row, it is also detrimental to the children!
