Thanks From Cape Hope’s Departing CEO

It is with a heart full of gratitude and thoughtful reflection that I announce my decision to resign from my role as CEO and president of Cape Hope, effective at the end of 2025.

My tenure as founding director, and subsequently as CEO and president, has been profoundly guided by God’s Word, which has served as a constant light illuminating our path. While the challenges we faced in serving the least among us were often immense, the opportunity to contribute to their well-being has been incredibly rewarding. Witnessing lives transformed and hope restored through our collective efforts has been the greatest privilege of my professional life.

As I transition from my leadership role at Cape Hope, my commitment to compassionate service remains steadfast. I will continue my work as a chaplain to women and children, both here in our community and, with a renewed focus, in Ukraine, where I am dedicating my efforts to supporting women ravaged by war. Additionally, I will persist in advocating for and working toward supportive housing solutions for people experiencing homelessness, a cause deeply close to my heart.

I extend my deepest thanks to each of you for your unwavering generosity, partnership and belief in our mission. Your contributions have been instrumental in making housing an option for so many, and I am immensely grateful for every act of kindness and support.

I have full confidence that Cape Hope, under new leadership, will continue its vital work with the same dedication and passion that has defined its first decade. I look forward to seeing the ministry flourish and continue to make a profound impact.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Denise South
