DENNISVILLE – Two Dennis Township residents asked Dennis Township Committee, at its Feb. 11 meeting, to see if the committee could make Route 83 safer, as people attempt to make turns in a passing area.
“It’s really dangerous living right on the road, and we have seen several accidents in recent months,” said one resident. “Also, there is a school bus stop at this area, and it’s extremely dangerous for the children.”
Mayor Zeth Matalucci added, “My parents live near you, and they have had to replace very strong brick pillars at the end of their driveway three times because they’ve been brought down by drivers veering off the highway.”
Matalucci asked Engineer Jack Gibson to start the review process with the state Department of Transportation to improve the situation.
